FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
About Pix-R-Me
Q: What is Pix-R-Me? Top
Pix-R-Me is a photography service for schools, pre-schools, events and private sessions founded in 2008 by Udi Edni.
Q: What is the vision behind Pix-R-Me's work at the schools? Top
For the children.
Our vision is to enhance the child's self esteem by taking great photos. When a child sees his image in our photos and likes what he sees, it makes him/her proud. Furthermore, if the photo is celebrated and presented either at home or at the school, the child might get compliments from others too and it further helps their self esteem and confidence.
For the parents.
Our vision is to take photos for the parents that can't be in the school. Photos that the parents wish they had taken themselves if they could. We would like to serve as a window to the child's life in the school and capture moments from those amazing 'school days' that often go too fast. We believe that no amount of great pictures of your children are ever too much.
For the community.
Pix-R-Me believes that our school albums provide a great opportunity for families to get to know each other. Our photos are often up close and personal and you really get to 'be there' and see each child. When parents get to 'know' their child(ren)'s friends, they are more likely to arrange 'play-dates' and get to know each other's family. Eventually, families that are more connected will be more involved and will help create a stronger community.
Q: How can I view photos taken by Pix-R-Me? Top
Pix-R-Me publishes its photos in password protected 'Pix-R-Me Photo Galleries'.
Non-Members albums require a direct link and password of the album.
Members-Only albums, (such as school albums), require you to first sign up and become a member (it's free), and have the 'Album ID' and 'Album Password'.
To access Non-Members albums:
If you have a direct link, just click on the link and enter the password when prompted to access the photos.
To access school albums (or Members-Only albums).
1. Register to create your free Pix-R-Me account.
2. Add your child's school and class info.
3. 'Add Album' using the 'Album ID' and 'Album Password' you received from Pix-R-Me or your school.
Q: How much does Pix-R-Me membership cost? Top
Membership is absolutely free. It doesn't cost to open an account or to view the photos. You only pay if you wish to order any photos.
Q: Why should I open a free Pix-R-Me account? Top
A Pix-R-Me account gives you an easy way to access all your albums from one central location. All you need to remember is your personal login info. We take many photos and over time and it is difficult to follow all links/passwords. By having an account, you don't need to search through your emails for each album's link/password. You add the album once and it is always there for you.
Q: What kind of camera do you use? Top
Most professional DSLR photographers use either Canon or Nikon cameras, I happen to be a Canon user as I have been for many years, (not that it makes any difference). For DSLR's I use 2x 5DMKII and 40D, and pocket cameras I use G9, and S90.
Q: Are you on 'Facebook'? Top
No. We don't use Facebook or any other social networking and do not to publish our photos on flicker or any other site. Privacy is extremely important to us. If you wish to post your own childrens' photos on Facebook, you can do it by purchasing digital versions of the photos using 'download credits'.
Q: Where else can I see Udi Edni's Work? Top
Before founding Pix-R-Me Udi Edni worked on many TV commercials, movies and TV Network branding as a visual effects artist and his work was recognized by numerous national and international awards. You can see some of Udi’s work at www.vfxdesign.com . You can also see Udi’s white painting collection at www.thewhiteone.com

Sign up and general questions
Q: How do I view the school photos? Top
Pix-R-Me stores the photos in password protected school albums. After the photos are taken you will receive an email from your school with an 'Album ID' and 'Album Password' of your school, it will include all the photos taken at your school for this year, divided by classroom or grade. To view the photos, you will need to:
1. Go to www.pixrme.com, and sign up to create an account (it's free)
2. Update your child's school information
3. 'Add Album'.
Once you've added the album to your Pix-R-Me account, it will show up in your 'My Albums' section. The password to this album will be displayed next to the album's name.
Q: Do I need to open a Pix-R-Me account to sign up for school photos? Top
Yes. School albums are for 'Members-Only', and we require parents to sign up and add their children to their account in order to validate the information with the schools.
Q: What is the difference between traditional portraits and candid photos? Top
Candid photos are taken of your child in his/her own environment. We take photos of the children playing and capture the moments in both the classroom and on the playground. Traditional portraits are posed photographs of your child taken in studio-like setting, with a background.
Q: Can I sign up for both traditional and candid, or do I need to choose? Top
If your school participates in our traditional portraits program, you can choose candid only, traditional only or both.
Q: Why do I need to pre-pay for school candid photos, before seeing the photos? Top
The short answer is because we want to keep giving you a quality product while keeping our photos affordable and at as low a cost as possible. Taking quality photos takes time and involves many hours of work before and after the session (that's apart from the professional equipment, experience and talent). Since our goal is not just to take as many photos as possible, but to take the most beautiful ones, and our time with each child is limited both in the school and in our studio, we must manage our time carefully to give those who are interested in our photos, the best service possible.
Q: Can I buy the entire class/grade album on a CD? Top
Pix-R-Me does not offer the entire album on a cd, we only offer individual photos.
Q: How long are the images saved for? Top
If nothing goes wrong, our plan is to save them for a period of 3-4 years.
School Photos - Traditional Portraits Top
Q: I only want the Class Picture. Do I need to sign up? Top
No. If we take a 'Class Picture' in your school, all children will be included. No sign up is necessary.
Q: How do I order a copy of the class photo? Top
When the photos are ready, we will publish them in our gallery and you will be able to download the class picture you like the most directly from the gallery at no charge. You can print it on your home printer or anywhere you like. You can also order a 5x7 print for $5+shipping from our gallery and all profit ($1.70) will go back to your school as a fundraser.
Q: Can you take photos of my siblings together? Top
We do, depending on the school. Please check with your school. You will need to notify your classroom teacher. (and let us know too).
Q: How do I order additional prints of my child(ren) portrait? Top
Additional prints, digital versions, and sometimes additional 'takes' if available can be ordered online after the pre-ordered package is delivered to your school.
Q: Do you offer digital version or other print sizes? Top
Yes. Additional prints, digital versions, additional 'takes' or sibling portraits if available can be ordered online after the pre-ordered package is delivered to your school.
Candid School Photos Top
Q: Do I need to sign up? Top
Yes. You will need to sign up and purchase at least one 'download credits' per child before the session.
Q: Will I be notified before Pix-R-Me visits the school to take photos? Top
Yes, Pix-R-Me or the school will send an email to let you know if Pix-R-Me will take photos in your child's class. In addition to our official 'sessions' we might be in the school for few un-announced days to take more photos.
Q: Will my child be included in the candid sessions if I don't buy/pre-order any credits? Top
Our goal is to have as many children as possible participate in our candid sessions. If we see a child asking or interested to be photographed, we take a photo and let him/her be a part of the session. We won't send him/her to buy 'credits'.
We will not necessarily spend time to adjust the camera's settings, review the photo or upload it to our computer, but we will take the shot to make everyone happy and involved.
Q: There are so many photos, can you make an album with only the photos of my child(ren)? Top
Yes, you can request a 'Private Album'. It's free. Once we set you up with a 'private album' you can 'tag' you childrens photos (or any photos you like), and they will be saved in a separate album just for you.
Candid School Photos - 'Download Credits' Top
Q: What are 'Downloads Credits' (Digital Version)? Top
'Downloads Credits' is Pix-R-Me's credit system for ordering digital versions of your photos.
When you buy 'download credits' we apply them to your account and when you see a photo that you like, you can redeem your credits to download it. '1 credit = 1 photo'.
'Downloads' are the digital copy of the image. (Not the prints on paper). When you buy a 'Download', (or sometimes referred as 'Digital Version'), it gives you endless possibilities to use the photo. 'Digital Versions' are great for sharing, emailing to family and friends, making holiday cards, photo books and many other things including making prints and posters from your photos.
Q: What exactly is 'Hi Res'? Top
Hi Resolution is a jpeg file, about 600K in size, the pixels dimension is ~1600x2400 pixels (4 mega-pixels ~4,000,000 pixels). Your Hi-res file will be great for prints or digital display. For example, our Apple 30" monitor is resolution is 1600x2560 and SmugMug's requirement for a 24"x36" poster print is 1440x2160. The quality of the image is determined by the original equipment that we use to take the photos, the professional cameras and lenses. The source files of your photos are normally 10-21Mb RAW files and we downsize them to make your quality hi-res jpeg. See samples.
Q: Can I buy more credits after you took the photos? Top

Returns Top
Candid Photos - Download Credits' returns
Q: What is your return policy for candid 'download credits'? Top
Our return policy is very simple. It's 'Take it all' or 'Leave it all'.
WE OFFER 100% MONEY BACK - IF YOU DIDN'T USE ANY CREDIT.
Note that if you still have credits in your account 3 weeks before the end of the school year and you didn't request a refund, we will select the photos for you and we will put them in your account. We can not offer refund once the photos (digital versions) are in your account.
Why it is 'All' or 'Nothing'?
Photos are not born equal, regardless of how many photos we take there will always be 'the bests' and 'the rest'. We couldn't take 'the best' if we didn't take 'the rest'. (We wish that too:).
The more credits you pre-paid for, we will take more photos in order to fullfill your available credits in your account and we will have more chance to get better photos. But if for example you ordered '8 credits' and download the 3 photos you like the best, the 5 remaining credits in your account are non refundable.
If you didn't see photos you like? The best thing to do is to let us know asap by filling out the 'Request More Photos' form. We might have another session or oppurtunity to take photos and we can try again.
Q: What if you didn't get any photos of my child(ren)? Top

Q: What if my child wasn't well at the day of the session? Top

Q: What if I just didn't like any of my child's school candid photos that Pix-R-Me published? Top
